Traditional BP cuff readings provide a snapshot of blood pressure at a moment in time. This misses how blood pressure actually moves across the day, during recovery, sleep, or in response to treatment.

Esperto’s ultrasound-based technology delivers accurate, continuous and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring. The result: precise, comfortable 24/7 readings across all patient populations.

By providing a real-time stream of clinically validated data, Esperto empowers care teams to detect issues early, intervene quickly, and improve patient outcomes.

Hardware is only half the answer.

Without software to stream, store, monitor, alert on, and make sense of the data, Esperto’s readings have little clinical value. They needed software and they needed it fast: a minimum viable product that could communicate the future vision of their program to ARPA-H grant reviewers, as well as a suite of software tools to run internal clinical trials. That’s where we came in.

The mobile app allows patients to take readings from home and also see key metrics: their live blood pressure, pulse, and session history.

Quicker queries with high-accuracy AI.

An AI assistant supports clinician work by running read-only, access-controlled queries against the live data and providing plain-English answers.

Alerts that come before crises.

The platform watches for both sudden spikes and slow drifts over months, flagging them automatically. Care teams catch what matters and can quickly intervene.

Organized, streamlined care.

The dashboard allows care teams to monitor many patients at once. Clinicians also have access to long-term trends and analytics, and a per-patient detail view with full session history.

Real-time clinical monitoring.

Patients’ blood-pressure waveforms are immediately propagated to the cloud, and clinicians can view them in real-time via the clinician dashboard.

Efficiently and securely serving multiple clinics.

Beneath both clinician and patient apps sits a data structure that supports many clinics, each fully isolated and self-branded, with self-service onboarding and an operator console.

Two-factor authentication and HIPAA compliance

HIPAA compliant from the ground up.

Security wasn’t a layer we added at the end: it shaped the architecture from the start.

All patient data is walled off at the database level, so even a software bug can’t leak one clinic’s data to another. Clinicians authenticate with two-factor login, and data changes are auto-logged for accountability.

The end product: software that stands up to the security, compliance, and accessibility expectations of a federally funded medical device.

Technical and regulatory documentation included.

In addition to building the software, we produced reports required by the ARPA-H program, including a Wireless Communication Architecture Assessment, Zero Trust Cybersecurity Framework for both mobile and web apps, and Section 508 Interface Assessment and Recommendations. This helped Esperto request Phase 2 grant funding with confidence.
