Providing millions of parents with free, trusted resources for tracking their babies’ development.

Supporting the brightest future for every baby.
Over the past 40 years the non-profit Pathways.org has devoted themselves to supporting parents and their children.
While often exciting, tracking babies’ development also serves another key purpose: early delay detection. This allows for early intervention, when neuroplasticity is at its maximum.
An app experience custom-tailored to each child.
Pathways.org had games, milestone checklists, charts, videos, articles and more in static, encyclopedic form. We brought their vast library of content into an interactive mobile and web app that shows parents content curated specifically for their child.

Games based on age and ability.
New development-specific games are suggested regularly. An activity counter keeps track of what’s already been played, and how many times.

Milestone progress at a glance.
Colorful bar graphs give parents an easy way to see their child’s milestone and ability progress broken down by category. Additionally, parents can click through to activities that support each goal.

Tummy time made easy.
App users can track, record, edit, and view their baby’s tummy time progress.
A website glow-up.
After the success of the mobile app, Pathways asked us to take their old WordPress website and transform it into a new, matching interactive web app.

Custom content management system.
In response to updates from the CDC and American Association of Pediatrics, Pathways.org needed a way to ensure their content was up to date. The CMS we built allows them to edit their milestones, activities, articles, and more.

Every child’s journey is unique.
Children begin their journeys differently, so we added options for parents to specify if their baby is born premature or in the NICU.

Families can be any size and configuration.
There are no limits on the number of children or caregivers that can be added.

20 languages and counting.
Pathways.org didn’t want their materials to be limited to English-speakers, so we translated their content into 19 additional languages, including Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic.

Analytics dashboard.
Pathways.org wanted to understand how their app was being used, so we incorporated admin analytics that give them the data they need while still protecting user privacy.
A balance between research-based and tender.
Color, typography, and layout harmonize the scientific and playful ethos of Pathways.org's mission.

A beacon of light for new parents.
In a world of misinformation, Pathways.org offers resources parents can trust. Moreover, they offer them completely free of charge, ensuring that all families have equal access.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to bring Pathways.org’s tools into a more interactive format and support hundreds of thousands of families on their journey through those first pivotal years.
